Once the client agrees to pursue this project, Bright Ideas will file a Utility Rebate Application with the local utility company. Rebates are offered to incentivize companies to reduce their consumption during peak hours. At Bright Ideas, we not only sell the top quality lights which qualify for the available rebates, but we also guide you through the process and help with all of the paperwork. We make everything simple and straightforward so that you can be sure your savings are maximized.After the project is installed, you should expect to receive the rebate 6-8 weeks following the application’s submittal.
All of Bright Ideas products are commercial grade and are designed for 24 hour usage with 50,000 hour lifespan backed by a 5 year warranty. In contrast, big box stores sell one-size fits all products which are manufactured in very large quantities with residential grade components. The 2-3 year limited warranty only covers residential hours of usage (i.e. 3 hours per day). We at Bright Ideas have access to these same cheap components, but choose not to put them in our products for the sake of uphold our standards for quality. Our products will last a long time and due to the fact that we make our own products, quite often.
Each bulb has a rated lifespan of 50,000 and is backed by a 5 years warranty. If at any point one of our products begins to misbehave, we will send a replacement at no charge.
All products made and sold by Bright Ideas have a rated lifespan of 50,000 operating hours. The “life” of a lamp is generally accepted as the number of hours a light will operate before the luminous output drops to 70% of its original intensity. A power LED industry group, Alliance for Solid-State Illumination Systems and Technologies (ASSIST) conducted tests in a commercial lighting environment that showed people generally did not notice a gradually diminishing LED light output until it had dropped by 30% of its original brightness. This value is known as L70. Most quality LED’s available today offer a L70 of 50,000 to 60,000 hours.
So if an LED light is used on average for 2.5 to 3 hours per day, then it will reach L70 in around 50 years. A commercial parking lot running its lights for 12 hours per day / 7 days per week can expect its light for over 12 years. An office operating at typical 8am – 6pm hours Monday – Friday won’t need to change a light bulb for the next 20 years.

Installation labor is typically performed by one of our independent partners. Projects are bid out to multiple electricians and contractors to increase competition and drive down cost. As an option for savings, clients have the freedom to choose their own electricians or available staff to perform the installation service. If our client elects to coordinate installation themselves, replacement training will be provided by a Bright Ideas technician.
Yes. Due to the fact that each product is custom built for each project, we have the ability to make any product dimmable by utilizing a dimmable driver. In most interior applications all of our products come standard with the dimmable feature. The reason for doing so is that a dimmable driver is often made with more robust and higher quality components because it needs to be able to handle greater fluctuations in current and voltage. We make all of our products with very high quality components and in order to achieve our quality standard, our interior lights utilize dimmable drivers.If our clients are interested in utilizing dimming controls with your Lighting Solution, we offer special LED dimmer switches. These specialty dimmers are specifically designed to work with our model of driver, which ensures there will be no compatibility issues associated with archaic controls.
Depending upon the application, we customize our product to have the greatest positive impact on the environment for which they are lighting. In standard applications our choice for “warm-white” is 2700K, Daylight is 5000K, and exteriors 5500-6500K. We don’t pigeon hole ourselves to these specific kelvin ratings though. We have the flexibility to offer an Kelvin rating between 2600K-6500K in increments of 100K. An example of this is in a grocery store setting, we utilize 2900K and 3500K to make meats look fresher, and whereas Dairy and Produce look better at 4100K. There is no limit to what we can do for you. Rest assured that we will never use a one size fits all solution for your applications. Each color will be customized to your needs and will make your space come alive.

We are also love the look of classic cars, but it’s just not sustainable to drive them on a daily basis. That being said, Ford has kept up with the times and is now one of the world’s leading manufacturers of eco-engines and hybrids. Technology now lets us now take a 100 Watt Incandescent that lasts 1,000 hours and replace it with a 10 Watt LED Bulb that lasts 50,000 and all while achieving better illumination.
To those that still love the look of incandescent and rue the day someone takes it away, fear not. We have an entire line of products that have been specifically designed to replicate its incandescent counterpart both in color and appearance. For example: our “BI-30” which replaces a standard 65W incandescent PAR30, does such a good job that on multiple trials where a ceiling had 50% BI-30 and 50% PAR30, people could not tell them apart. More often than not people misidentified the BI-30 as an incandescent because “it looks brighter and nicer.” You won’t believe till you see it.
All of our LED products operate on DC between 12-42 volts. Our high efficiency constant current drivers transform the AC line voltage to DC. Having the right driver is the most important aspect of any LED lamp. That is why we customize the driver for each lighting application. All of drivers are commercial grade and can handle AC voltages of up to 220. For industrial and heavy commercial applications, we use drivers that are rated for 277V and above. Higher voltage drivers and transformers are available for all of our products upon request.
Indeed you can. One key benefit to a customized lighting solution from Bright Ideas is that we can retrofit virtually any fixture.
A common example of this is T8 and T12 linear fluorescent lighting. Our LED Tubes are specifically designed to utilize any T8 or T12 fixture, including the current G13 tombstones (sockets). Simply disconnect the ballast and attach the AC lines directly to the current sockets. It takes about 5 minutes in most cases. Our LED Tubes are compatible with both shunted and un-shunted tombstones, meaning that a tube can receive live and neutral AC connections either on the same side or one alternative sides. This eliminates the need for new sockets and dramatically cuts down installation time leading to greater savings.For exterior applications, we offer a host of retrofitting options for fixtures, but in most cases we recommend installing our own fixtures. The key reason being that a conventional outdoor fixture, such as a Shoebox lights, was never intended to operate a LED light, therefore the light distribution and heat dissipation will not function as well. Our exterior fixtures are designed specifically to operate LED lights, featuring optimized heat dissipation and beam angle. Moreover, our fixtures are future proof in that they allow for upgrades of LED modules and drivers. Much like a computer tower is designed to allows steady performance upgrades over time, so too do our fixtures. This way you can you always stay ahead without the need to remove all of your fixtures.
